Arc of Acadiana is a dynamic and growing company.  We are in need of individuals who are compassionate and caring, to work with people with developmental disabilities.  We’re currently hiring:

Direct Support Workers / CNAs to work split shifts with clientele in the New Iberia area. Direct Support Workers are responsible for providing direct support to the clients by assisting them with daily needs, such as dressing, recreating, and reinforcement of active treatment objectives.


In Home

Monday – Thursday: 6am – 8:15am / 3:45pm – 8pm
Friday: 6am – 8:15am / 3:45pm – 7:30pm
Saturday: 10am – 7pm
Sunday: 2pm – 7pm
Total care experience preferred


Monday – Friday: 6:30am – 8:30am / 3:15pm – 8pm
Saturday and Sunday: 8am – 8pm



Job Duties:
Trains individuals to develop and maintain skills necessary for working and living by teaching functional, daily living, working, social, and personal-social readjustment skills.
Promotes maximum independence by implementing action plans according to individual’s physical capacity, intelligence, level, and interest.
Documents progress by charting on data sheets and completing required monthly/quarterly progress reports.
Evaluates results of training by observing, noting, and evaluating progress; recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications.
May require assisting a client into and out of a wheelchair
May require assisting a client into and out of bed
May be required to transport client to doctor appointments, run errands, etc.




Must be 21 years or older, have a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
Ability to work flexible hours (some weekend and holidays are required).
Good communication skills, dependable, able to work independently and the ability to read and write.
CNA and nursing home experience preferred but not required.
