Vocational Trainer

Report To: Program Manager/ Program Director

Supervise: Clients (up to 8 at a time)

Qualification: High School Diploma and experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Valid driver’s license and must have ability to drive clients. Good communication skills, Can work independently and with others. Ability to read and write.

Shift: Monday through Friday 8am-4pm. May require some Saturdays at the resale store and occasionally have to drive routes.



• Supervise, direct and provide instructions to clients in a Day-Hab environment.

• Demonstrate acceptable social behaviors in work setting and assist clients with gaining the knowledge of understanding such practices.

• Implement client work strategies to work toward each individual’s employment goals.

• Report any progress and problems with client behaviors/objectives and management of small business to Director and/or QMRP or Assistant Director.

• Directly supervise clients (if required) when operating machine and equipment or follow safety codes.

• Monitor and document daily progress of clients.

• Motivate clients to begin and end daily job tasks.

• Demonstrate proficiency in multiple tasks to manage day hab and develop each client’s ability to handle related tasks.

• Maintain good work standards and communications at all times.

• Supervise and manage the sorting and distribution of clothes in a retail store outlet.

• Communicate regularly with Director on all issues in running the day-to-day operations of the day hab.

• Complete payroll records for all employees in day hab setting bi-weekly.

• Responsible for welfare and safety of clients in workplace.

• Provide monthly safety training for all clients in workplace.

• Responsible for quality control at day hab.
