Meet Chelsea Guidry, Arc of Acadiana’s Waiver Program Manager for Vermilion Parish. Chelsea manages the Day Program operations while simultaneously growing and supervising Arc’s Supported Living/In-Home service programs in Vermilion Parish.  

Chelsea’s career began in the educational system where she was involved with a self-contained classroom of students with various abilities. Her love for people with developmental disabilities grew and she found her way to Arc of Acadiana nearly 3 years ago. Chelsea was initially hired as a Waiver Supervisor, coordinating care for Arc clients, while working with staff to ensure that each person received the supports they needed.  Her most recent position was Waiver QIDP, writing client plans and communicating with families and support coordination to offer the best possible services for Arc of Acadiana clients in Lafayette, Rayne, and Opelousas.

Education:

Chelsea graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science.  She has been instrumental in helping to restructure the Lafayette caseloads and assisting to identify more efficient ways for Arc of Acadiana to serve people with disabilities in Lafayette/Opelousas. Her motivation and enthusiasm are fueled by helping Arc of Acadiana clients realize their goals.  We have no doubt that Arc’s programs, and most importantly, their clientele will flourish under her leadership.

Personal Life:

Chelsea has been married to her Husband, Todd, for 5 years and has two wonderful children, Caroline (2) and Sarah- Catherine(1). She is a native of Lafayette who loves to spend time with her family and friends, and cheering on the Ragin Cajuns and the New Orleans Saints! She has been a member of the Down Syndrome Association of Acadiana for the past 10 years as a Volunteer Coordinator. 

Arc of Acadiana Now Serving Vermilion Parish

In December 2020, Arc of Acadiana assumed operations of Arc of Vermilion’s Day Program to continue the tradition of excellence in services to adults with developmental disabilities in Vermilion Parish.  Adult Day Program services are now open and Arc welcomes clients to participate in supported employment and day habilitation services, including recreational activities. Arc of Acadiana is also providing services to individuals with disabilities across all waivers in Vermilion Parish, including Supports Waiver, Residential Options Waiver (ROW), New Opportunities Waiver (NOW) as well as Community Choice Waiver (CCW) and Long-Term Personal Care Services (LTPCS).

It is with great pride and appreciation that Arc of Acadiana is able to expand services to Vermilion Parish continuing their mission of securing for all people with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live life to their fullest potential.
