Arc of Acadiana Resale Store

What We Do

Arc of Acadiana Resale Stores are more than just a great place to find a deal. Every donation we receive and every item we resell helps reduce landfill waste and promote sustainable living across Louisiana. Our stores give thousands of household goods, clothes, and furniture a second life — while creating job opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Why It Matters

The connection between environmental sustainability and social good is real. When you support Arc of Acadiana Resale Stores, you’re doing more than shopping responsibly — you’re helping build a more inclusive, environmentally conscious community.

The Impact of Your Support

Meaningful Employment

Every purchase helps create inclusive, paid job opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Waste Diverted

Your donated items help keep thousands of pounds of clothing, housewares, and materials out of landfills every year.

Affordable Alternatives

We offer quality, new and secondhand goods at prices families can actually afford — while promoting reuse over waste.

Extended Impact

Unsold items are responsibly recycled in bulk to help support communities in need around the world.

How It Works

Here’s what happens when you donate to or shop at one of our stores:

  1. You donate gently used items: Clothes, shoes, furniture*, home goods, books, toys, and more.
  2. We sort and process donations: Our team — which includes individuals we serve — inspects, organizes, and prepares items for resale.
  3. We resell what we can: Items are sold at affordable prices in our resale stores to help fund our programs and support employment.
  4. We responsibly recycle what we can’t sell: Items that aren’t suitable for resale are recycled to organizations that distribute clothing and goods to underserved communities, including in third-world countries. This helps reduce landfill waste and extends the life of every item as far as possible.

*Unfortunately, we are unable to accept large furniture donations.
