Our stores give thousands of household goods, clothes, and furniture a second life — while creating job opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

How It Works
Here’s what happens when you donate to or shop at one of our stores:
- You donate gently used items: Clothes, shoes, furniture*, home goods, books, toys, and more.
- We sort and process donations: Our team — which includes individuals we serve — inspects, organizes, and prepares items for resale.
- We resell what we can: Items are sold at affordable prices in our resale stores to help fund our programs and support employment.
- We responsibly recycle what we can’t sell: Items that aren’t suitable for resale are recycled to organizations that distribute clothing and goods to underserved communities, including in third-world countries. This helps reduce landfill waste and extends the life of every item as far as possible.
*Unfortunately, we are unable to accept large furniture donations.

What are your store hours?
All of our resale thrift store locations are open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 3:45 pm.
The 1504 Center St. location in New Iberia is open 8:30 am to 4:15 pm.
How do you support the disabled community?
At Arc of Acadiana, we provide a wealth of services and support for Acadiana’s intellectually and developmentally disabled community. Our services offer a range of assistance from daily care to employment, recreation, community development and beyond, to assist those with developmental disabilities in achieving financial, social and emotional success.
About Arc of Acadiana
Arc of Acadiana provides 11 community group homes to help clients learn the joys and responsibilities of independent living.
Our clients and their families are guided by experienced, compassionate staff members who understand the challenges faced by developmentally disabled individuals.
